Croatian members of the European Parliament Dubravka Suica and Ruza Tomasic talked with European Commissioner Johannes Hahn in Strasbourg on Wednesday, advocating the construction of the Peljesac bridge as the best solution to connect Croatia's south with the rest of the country.
"We saw this meeting as another lobbying attempt for the Peljesac bridge project," said Suica of the Croatian Democratic Union party. She said a preliminary feasibility study, with the best option, would be released on September 22. "We explained that the bridge is the best option and there is a consensus about this on the local and state levels in Croatia," said Suica.
After the release of the preliminary feasibility study, Hahn is expected to meet with Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Branko Grcic.
